Do you remember the cowbell sketch from Saturday Night Live? It's the one with Will Ferrell pretending to be an obnoxious cowbell player for Blue Oyster Cult, and their producer (Christopher Walken) keeps asking for more cowbell, all the while Ferrell is getting more and more obnoxious and ruining every take.
I recently saw an allusion to that sketch and it really made me start to think about where in the church I scream for more cowbell.
When have I ignored the majors (staples like guitar and drums, or in the church, grace and mercy) and focused on tiny items that only exist to accent the main thing (like cowbells and the style of the worship music)?
